Class Descriptions
Reading Readiness I
This program is designed to strengthen your child’s reading readiness skills through mulit-sensory games and activities. A certified reading specialist will gear activities towards your child’s needs. Lesson plans include working on letter recognition, letter-sound correspondence, phonemic awareness, and concept of print. Your child will have the opportunity to master the building blocks of learning how to read. (Ages 4-5)
Reading Readiness II
Strengthen your child’s letter-sound correspondence, phonics skills, and fluency. Give them the opportunity to master the concept of print: building and reading words, sentences, stories. A certified reading specialist will help make sense of reading by motivating your child through stimulating games and activities. (Ages 5-6)
Math Readiness
Will your child be ready for kindergarten math? This class will make learning numbers and understanding math concepts fun while working both in group and individual settings. Let your child explore hands-on math concepts: number recognition, number sequence, concept of numbers, counting numbers, shapes & patterns, grouping/comparing/catagorizing. (Ages 4-6)
Kindergarten Readiness
Give your preschooler the opportunity to work on the fundamentals of Kindergarten Readiness: from basic concepts- rhyming, reciting, repeating, arranging; to working on colors, shapes, body parts, alphabet sequence, number sequence, holding a pencil, and name writing while practicing settling in, focusing, and following directions. (Ages 4-6)
Rookie Readers
Learning and reviewing beginning reading strategies will not only help strengthen your child's reading, it can improve confidence in their reading ability, and continue them on their journey to foster the of love reading. Strategies include working on phonics,word attack skills, fluency, and comprehension. (1st grade - 3rd Grade)
